Where to have dinner in Seville’s old town

Seville’s old town at night is one of the most beautiful things in the city — and the easiest place to pay a lot for an average dinner. This guide is about hours, specific streets and what to check before you sit down.

The hours change everything

In Seville nobody dines at eight, and those first sittings save the night: fewer people, better service and a better chance of a good table. By 21:30–22:00 the old town fills and the average quality drops.

Where the risk is and where it is not

The pedestrian streets off the main square are pure tourist territory: picture menus and high prices. One street further in, or crossing towards Plaza de España, changes the picture entirely.

What to order for a good dinner nearby

If you end up crossing towards the plaza, San Marco is eight minutes away: fresh pasta, a 48-hour sourdough pizza or a tagliata, with house-made desserts to finish. A real dinner, no surprises on the bill.

Preguntas frecuentes

Resolvemos las dudas más habituales.

What time do people have dinner in Seville?

Typically between 21:00 and 23:00, which is why the first sitting at 20:00 is an advantage.

At San Marco we cook Italian the way it is cooked at home: fresh pasta made daily, dough proved for 48 hours and family recipes we have never changed. We have been next to the Plaza de España since 1994, with two daily services and options for almost any taste or need.

As a guide to prices, la Carbonara romana costs €12.50; la Lasagna della casa costs €13.50; el Tiramisú della nonna costs €5.50; la Burrata pugliese costs €16.50. The menu sits in the mid range (€€) and the full list with every dish and price is always on our menu page. We keep the prices in the menu and in our structured data in sync with the same source, so what you read is what you pay.

Come and see us: Calle Dr. Pedro de Castro, 1, 41004 Sevilla. Lunch 13:00–16:00, dinner 20:00–23:30, every day of the week.

Booking is quick with no small print: you choose day, time and party size, and you get confirmation with a reference. You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before. In high season — weekends, bank holidays and spring — it is worth securing your table in advance, because that is when we fill up. With the booking engine on, confirmation is instant; if it is ever unavailable, the phone and email lines are still answered.

Is it true you eat worse in Santa Cruz?

Not always, but the concentration of tourists pushes prices up and the average down. Inner streets are usually the better bet.

You will find us at Calle Dr. Pedro de Castro, 1, 41004 Sevilla, a short walk from the Plaza de España and the historic centre. The bus stop is right at the door and there is a public car park about 50 metres away, so arriving by car or public transport is easy. On foot, the landmark is simple: once you reach the Plaza de España, we are a short stroll along Dr. Pedro de Castro street. We are open every day, lunch 13:00–16:00 and dinner 20:00–23:30. You can call +34 954 41 87 60 or book online.

Are there gluten-free options in the area?

Yes, but ask before sitting down. In our case there are gluten-free alternatives and we note it when you book.

We have gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan dishes on the menu, and we also adapt recipes when you let us know. The best thing is to tell us when you book: that way the kitchen prepares your dish with a separate protocol and can suggest alternatives within what you fancy. If you have a specific allergy, mention it and we will go through it dish by dish with you.

This is a very convenient area to eat: you are next to the Plaza de España and a step from the centre, so you can combine the visit with your meal without losing time travelling. Instead of falling for the first tourist menu you find, it is worth booking a place with its own kitchen, like this one, where the produce and the cooking show in the dish.

If you prefer to talk to us, call +34 954 41 87 60 or +34 661 07 26 88. If writing is easier, the booking address is reservas@restaurantesevillasanmarco.com. Booking online gives you instant confirmation with a reference that acts as proof of your day, time and party size; if anything changes, that reference lets us find your table in seconds. We open daily from 13:00 to 16:00 and from 20:00 to 23:30, right by the Plaza de España.
